Walk with Bolt and Healthy Tips for Eating Out.

Healthy Tips for eating out- YoutubeLink

  1.  Plan ahead, call ahead, look up the menu online and decide what healthy dish you are going to pick before you get there.
  2. Eat a health snack before going grocery shopping. If we go hungry, we will buy more stuff, spend more money and make more impulse items.
  3. Hydrate- most of the time when we are hungry, we are also dehydrated. Get hydrated first and you will have better digestion and eat less.
  4. Double order veggies with you plate to get closer to the 7-14 servings of f&v, 20+ for athletes.
  5. Share a plate and chew your food, enjoy the meal and the company.

Living to the Plus Sneak Peak

I feel like I am far enough along to start sharing, I am now over 30k words into my book "Living to the Plus".

This will be a biography of some of my life, or some of my successes and challenges. But also a reflection for you to see if your life can be more to the "Plus"!

Would you read and follow a book with reflection on learnings and assignments for you to follow to better yourself?

Here is a sneak peak-

Living to the Plus

This phrase has built-in meaning over the years, it signifies a journey. Have you been on a journey you could call “to the Plus”? Or have you settled, been sitting down, stagnate? I really want to know. I want to help you move that dial to the PLUS, if you have the desire to make a change, to find your purpose, to find your limits.

I think we are born, given a life to make a life. We are all brought up different, exposed to varying things and all set in our mindset mostly by the age of 7. Do you remember how you felt about life at 7, do you remember what you had been exposed to at 7? Would you say you have expanded beyond your thinking like a 7-year-old or can you relate to thinking mostly the same as you did back then? Have you learned to change your lenses, your perspective on life past the lenses or a 7 year old? Have you found yourself with roadblocks or conflicts because of your thinking the way you always have? Would you like to grow beyond those roadblocks?

I remember when I was 7. I remember being held back from 1st grade after throwing books across the room in a private school. Then starting 1st grade for the second time in public school and my teacher was named Ms. George. I remember thinking of myself as a dumb kid. Back in those days they did not fully understand and recognize different learning styles. Much less did they offer the programs to address it. My son has many of the same issues as I had but as far as I am aware has had a 180-degree difference in educational service. I am proud of my son and that he has a confident and thinking mind.

The biggest thing I remember going through elementary school is that they had a positive recognition program called “Panther Pride”. At Oak Grove Elementary we were the Panthers (Ironic…)
And if you were a “good kid” at the end of the year you would get to be a “Panther Pride” badge recipient. In five years, I was in this school, I never was selected as Panther Pride. Looking back, this had a significant impact on me through my primary school learning and behavioral career.

Do you have a similar story? How did your kindergarten and 1st-grade years affect the rest of your life? I want to know.

Living to the Plus is a story and sharing how a sequence of deaths and rebirths of my character taught me how to overcome, be indestructible and reach a higher place in the mind. I hope you find value in my sharing my story with you. I hope you find your Living to the Plus!

How to use this book
  1. Each chapter in the book will be a chapter in my life. I will tell the story and then at the end will share with you what I learned from that experience.
  2. After each chapter there will be a section as a workbook for you to work through this learning and apply it to your life.
  3. You will be given a two week long assignment on how to help create a positive habit from each chapter.
    1. These reflection assignments, chose it if will be the primary thing you want to accomplish for those two weeks, it needs to be your “One Thing” (I highly recommend you read this book as a precursor to mine)
    2. Sick with the goal of working on these assignments for 10 days or two weeks in increase you probability of creating a habit, a lifestyle shift or mindset change.
    3. Once you have completed the assignment, give yourself a break for the rest of the month to continue to reflect and let the change sink in. Then start the next challenge the start of the next month.
